Not only is the land diverse above water but below as well, with huge boulders that create havens for both large and small fish. There is everything in this underwater paradise from large pelagic to ribbon eels. The Similan Islands National Park has nine uninhabited islands that are densely wooded and boast a number of beautiful white sand beaches. Below the waterline, the Similans offer huge boulders with swim-through, cracks and overhangs. The Surin Islands and Richelieu Rock are personal favorites with chances to observe octopus, mating cuttlefish and schooling barracudas, plus chance encounters with shovelnose rays.
